Shane Stover always loved drawing. Born in 1981, in San Luis Obispo, California, he demonstrated his extraordinary ability as an artist at a young age and began his professional career while still in his teens. By the time he graduated from high school, he had earned multiple art awards, scholarships, and completed many commissioned pieces.
In college he continued his education in the arts and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from San Francisco State University. During this time he continued to pursue commissioned art projects and had his first solo art exhibition in 2001 at the young age of 19. Following his college graduation in 2004, he moved to Los Angeles to further develop his art and fulfill his lifelong dream of working in the entertainment industry as an artist.
In 2005, Shane joined the prestigious team at SCPS Unlimited (http://www.scpsunlimited.com/) as a concept artist, product designer, and 3-D modeler. Clients he has collaborated with include: Marvel Studios, Warner Brothers, Delta Airlines, Samsung, GMC, Google and Target. Some of his most recent projects include the films: Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Interstellar, The Dark Knight Rises, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Avengers: Infinity War
Shane’s ability to uniquely capture an athlete in action was
recognized in 2010 when he became an artist in residence at
Victory Fine Arts, Inc. (http://www.victoryfineart.com/).
During his residence he has had the opportunity to
document special events in the athletic world by
painting such events as the retirement of Derek Jeter
from the New York Yankees and the celebration of
the Chicago Blackhawks when they won the
Stanley Cup. In addition, he has painted
individual athletes such as Drew Doughty of the
Los Angeles Kings and Dallas Braden of the
Oakland Athletics.
A versatile artist, Shane continues to work in
both illustration and the fine arts. While his
central subject matter remains portraiture he
has done work ranging from landscapes to
t–shirt designs, tattoo art, and book illustration.
He has received commissions from individuals
throughout the United States as well as
Europe and Canada and his work has been
featured in many art shows and galleries.
